Butler Elementary

Avon School District, Massachusetts

INTRODUCTION

Mr. Pearse in his effort to enrich the learning and experiences of his students has secured corporate sponsorship to send students from Avon School District overseas. Whilst abroad, you will be learning about a culture that MUST be very different from our own.

In order to satisfy the corporate sponsors (who have requested their identiy to be kept secret for this first trial) you must publish a VERY detailed report on the counrty you wish to visit.

PROCEDURE

This report will contain the following:

1) A Google Drawing Brainstorm organizing your detailed facts, graphs, photos and literature on your selected nation. A trial version of this can be downloaded from to utilize at home.

2) A cost analysis of the trip itself. This should include airfares, visa costs, transportation, accomodation and food. You need to allow for two people. Yourself and either your mother or father as chaparone. You should present your cost analysis in DETAILED form as a Google Spreadsheet including graphs and charts to visually detail how you will spend YOUR money. The trip length will be four weeks and should NOT include entertainment.

3) You will need to present your application in the form of a Google Presentation to the corporate sponsors at the end of the year. In this presentation you are selling why you are a good candidate BY PRESENTING A CONTENT RICH AND STIMULATING REPORT ON YOUR CHOSEN COUNTRY. Not all students will be selected. The sky is the limit as to how and what to include. Maximum length of presentation to be 5-7 minutes.

CITATION OF SOURCES

ALL students must accurately cite their source for ALL materials they use. This includes written, textbook, web content, video, audio, newspaper, magazine and television.

The BEST tool for you to do this that is both simple and easy, is to use the Citation Machine located at . This device is web based, free and will ensure the work that you cite will be MLA style oriented.
